The third wave of corona is becoming aggressive in India, the number of daily infected is close to 2.5 million

The number of Covid-19 infections in neighboring India has been steadily rising. As the third wave of the corona virus becomes more aggressive, the number of people infected daily is approaching 2.5 million.

In the last 24 hours, 247,417 new infections have been reported in India. That is 27 percent more than on Tuesday. At the same time, the devastation of Corona in India has reached the level of last May.

According to Indian media, the number of corona infections in India has increased six times in a period of 10 days. In the last 24 hours, 84,825 people have been cured and 380 have died across the country.

Currently, the number of active infected people in India has increased to 1.117 million, while the daily positivity rate has reached 13.11 percent. Similarly, the number of people infected with the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 has reached 5,488.

Maharashtra has the highest number of Omicron infections at 1367. In Rajasthan, which is in the second place, 792 people have been infected with Omicron so far. In addition, 549 cases have been confirmed in Delhi, 479 in Karnataka, 294 in West Bengal and 275 in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, as the third wave is becoming more aggressive, pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech on Wednesday said its booster dose of the vaccine would work against Omicron and Delta variants. A study by Emory University found that six months after the second dose, a booster dose of covacin worked against both variants.
