As the Corona infection rate began to rise, the conventions of the 16 districts that the Nepali Congress was supposed to hold on Magh 15 became uncertain again. Congress is yet to convene in 16 districts including Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Banke, Kailali, Achham and Nawalpur.
Even though the lower-level convention should have been held before the general convention, the convention could not be held in these 16 districts due to internal disputes within the ruling party Congress.
The district convention scheduled for Magh 15 has become uncertain again due to the rising
corona infection rate.
