CPN (UML) leader Jeevan Shrestha has retired from active politics. Shrestha has announced his retirement from active politics through social media.
He writes, “The party is continuing its campaign of fulfilling the aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ by uniting and strengthening the party in times of difficulties, difficulties and divisions. Due to some uncomfortable situation, I am announcing to take a break from active politics from today.”
Shrestha was dissatisfied when he was not unanimously elected from the CPN-UML’s eighth
district convention. He was elected in the second Constituent Assembly election.
