A meeting of the Chief District Officers of the Valley was convened to discuss the smart lockdown

A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu Valley is about to be held with the
increase of Covid-19 infection rate. Based on the recommendations of the COVID-19 Crisis
Management Coordination Center, the Ministry of Home Affairs has given the right to smart
lockdown to the Chief District Officers.

Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur are set to discuss the issue on
Tuesday afternoon. Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Ghanshyam Upadhyaya said that a common view would be formed after discussing with security experts. “As the transition rate has increased, we will coordinate with the ministry to decide how to proceed,” he said.
