Pressure to make Birgunj the capital of Province No.2

Pressure is being created to make Birgunj the permanent capital of Province No. 2, established as the economic city of the country. The program has been made public from holding a memorandum to holding a sit-in at the Chief Minister’s residence to put pressure on Birgunj to make it the permanent capital of the province.

A group of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) leader Rajeshman Singh, who has been raising voice in favor of Birgunj capital, is handing over a memorandum to Jitendra Sonal, leader of Province No. 2 LSPA parliamentary party on Wednesday. However, a peaceful sit-in and demonstration program has been made public in front of the Chief Minister’s residence in Birgunj on Friday.

Demanding that Birgunj, known as the major economic city of the country, should be made the permanent capital of the state, Pralhad Giri, Member of the Provincial Assembly from Parsa, LSP leader Prem Babu Patel, Mukesh Dwivedi, Umesh Sahani, Sujit Giri and others have demanded.

The people of Birgunj have created pressure saying that they are trying to make Birgunj the permanent capital. Evaluating the role played by Birgunj and the sacrifices of the martyrs to make the Madhes movement meaningful, the people of Birgunj have demanded that Birgunj should be made the capital of Province No.2.
