A bomb blast in Afghanistan has killed at least nine children

At least nine children have been killed in a bomb blast in eastern Afghanistan. Four more
people were injured in the blast near the border with Pakistan.

The Taliban-appointed governor said the food truck did not explode, but collided with a motor cart. The incident took place in Lalopar district near eastern Nangarhar province.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a gathering of Islamic State militants in Afghanistan.

ISK killed 13 US troops and 170 Afghans last year in a bomb blast at Kabul airport.
