MP Aman Lal Modi has questioned Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini and Governor
Maha Prasad Adhikari about the complaint that the state machinery is working to make the
finance minister unsuccessful.
In a discussion held at the Accounts Committee on Sunday, Modi targeted Finance Secretary Marasini and Governor Adhikari and asked, ”Are you not getting your tuning?” He was referring to complaints that the Maoist leader was the finance minister and that there was a lack of cooperation to show him a failure.
He suggested that if the use of luxury items is to be reduced, government officials should start.
”Why should the governor ride in an expensive car?” Minister, shouldn’t the Prime Minister have started reducing the expenditure? ‘He said. He said other ministries had not spent their budgets and that the regulatory body could not escape. On the other hand, he suggested not tocompromise on financial transparency while spending the budget.
He said that there were complaints that banks were giving loans only to those with access,
adding that even when there was a lack of liquidity, those with access could easily get loans and those without access could not.
