Kathmandu, January 9
CPN-UML has unanimously elected Tara Kant Chaudhary as the chairman of Saptari.
Chaudhary was unanimously elected as the chairperson of the ninth district convention of the CPN-UML at Agnisair Krishnasavaran village municipality. Chaudhary was elected from Saptari Constituency No. 3 in the second Constituent Assembly election.
The closed session has formed a 131-member district committee under the leadership of
Chaudhary. Abdul Majid Sakir has been selected as the Vice President, Devnath Yadav as the Secretary, Akhilesh Jha and Kusum Acharya as the Joint Secretaries.
Brij Narayan Sah, Yukti Marik, Bindi Mochi, Bir Bahadur Marsyangdi Magar, Devnarayan
Shrestha, Badrinarayan Chaudhary, Chandraman Vik, Chauthilal Khang, Laxmi Mandal and
others have been selected as members.
The convention was attended by Shankar Dev, Manju Sah, Bhola Raut, Kunjilal Chaudhary, Mo. A 23-member advisory committee including Younis, Chitrakala Magar, Ram Briksh Mahato, Bhuvan KC, Shatrughan Prasad Yadav and Magain Mandal has also been selected.
Raghubir Mahaseth, UML secretary and in-charge of state 2, administered the oath of office
and secrecy to the newly elected committee.
Chaudhary, who was elected as the chairperson, had been the district chairperson of the CPN- UML after the split.
