Committee formed to investigate disputed restaurant in Narayanhiti

Kathmandu, January 6

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has formed a committee to investigate the disputed restaurant inside the Narayanhiti Durbar Museum. On Thursday, the ministry formed a five-member committee under the chairmanship of Hom Prasad Luintel, joint secretary of the tourism division.

Joint Secretary Luintel informed that a letter has been received that a committee has been
formed under his leadership and the committee will submit its report within three days.
According to him, Deputy Secretaries of the Ministry Teknarayan Poudel, Suryamani Gautam, Purushottam Khatiwada and Branch Secretary Tanka Bahadur Negi have been given the responsibility of member secretary in the committee.

According to Luintel, how legitimate and how illegal is the restaurant being built by the
committee in Narayanhiti, is there a need for a restaurant or not? Has anything been done
contrary to the agreement and what is the legitimacy of the agreement? It has been given the responsibility to study and submit a report on the issue.
