Warning to cancel the affiliation of the medical college that charges more

Kathmandu, January 6.

The government has stated that it will dismiss the affiliation of medical colleges that charge
more than the prescribed fee from the Medical Education Commission.

The ministry has warned against dismissing the affiliation of medical colleges that have
repeatedly disobeyed directives in response to complaints that various colleges are charging higher fees.

A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Deepak Sharma said, “Ignoring the directives of the commission, if more fees are illegally collected from the students, action will be taken as per Article 14 of the National Medical Education Act, 2075 BS.”

Article 14 (a) of the National Medical Education Act, 2075 states that the affiliation can be
terminated if the fee is exceeded. Fees for medical education, including MBBS, are mentioned in Article 18 of the National Medical Education Act, 2075.

The ministry and the commission have urged the students not to pay more than the prescribed fee but the medical colleges have been depriving the students to take the exam if they do not pay more.
