Himalayan Sherpa climbed to the fifth position with a penalty kick by Captain Bishwas

Kathmandu, January 3

Himalayan Sherpa Club defeated newcomer Satdobato Youth Club 1-0 in the final match of the seventh round of the Martyrs’ Memorial A Division League on Monday.

Captain Bishwas Shrestha scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot to win the match
against Sherpa at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor. Satdobato could not score even though he got a penalty in the last minute of the game.

Himalayan Sherpa was awarded a penalty in the 42nd minute after Satdobato defender Peter Segun fouled Tridev Gurung. Captain Bishwas Shrestha scored from the penalty spot to give Himalayan Sherpa the lead.

In the second half, Satdobato got a chance to equalize but could not finish. Himalayan Sherpa missed an opportunity to double the lead in injury time. Piston Mutumba failed to score in the one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper.

Himalayan Sherpa’s Amrit Shrestha was awarded a penalty for fouling Martin Nanga of Satdobato but Martin Nanga’s shot was saved by Himalayan goalkeeper Deep Karki.

Despite a weak start to the ongoing league, the Himalayan Sherpas have won the last three
games in a row. With 11 points from 7 games, Sherpa has risen to the fifth position in the table.

Even though Tribhuvan Army FC added the same number of points, Sherpa is behind in goal difference.

This is the third defeat of Satdobato playing in A division league for the first time. Starting well in the league, Satdobato has added 7 points from 3 games and has added only 1 point in the last four games. Satdobato, which has 8 points from 7 games, has dropped to eighth position.
