5 million cash recovered from airport, two arrested including station manager of Saurya Air

Kathmandu, January 2

Police have arrested two persons from Tribhuvan International Airport with undisclosed
resources of Rs 5 million.

According to the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, Rs 5 million was recovered
from the airport at around 2.45 pm on Saturday. Police had received information that there was an undisclosed amount on the flight number SAU 724 of Saurya Airlines.

After receiving the information, the plainclothes police had checked the red bag with the words ‘Bhadrapur’ written on it. According to the police, an undisclosed amount was recovered from the cartoon.

A total of Rs 5 million was recovered from 4950 items at the rate of Rs 1,000 and 100 items at the rate of Rs 500. Police have arrested Resha Shakya, who is also an airline assistant in Kathmandu, on the charge of coming to collect the money.

were illegal goods, I went here and checked and found Rs 5 million, ‘said Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Prasad Mainali to Sethopati.

Police have sent Revenue Investigation Department to Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur for further
investigation.

Prakash Poudyal, station manager of Saurya Air Biratnagar, is also being brought to Kathmandu for further investigation, said Senior Superintendent of Police Mainali.

The department has initiated further investigation in this regard.
