A decision on MCC will be taken after January 1, while UML is blocking the parliament

Kathmandu, December 26

Prachanda, the leader of the ruling coalition, has said that a positive solution will be found on January 3 regarding the US Assistance Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) which has become a topic of national debate. However, he said that the MCC issue would be postponed for some time as UML was blocking the parliament. Leader of the ruling coalition and Chairman of the UCPN (M) Prachanda has expressed hope that the meeting of the three-member task force will be held on January 1 and that a positive solution will be found.

Speaking to reporters in the capital on Saturday, Prachanda said, “We have formed a task force of three comrades Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Comrade Jhala Nath Khanal and Hon’ble Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki to look into all the documents once and for all. “They have settled down once. You are collecting documents. Again, the meeting is being held on the 17th. It comes from there. ‘ Prachanda further said, “We want the issue to be resolved positively. Not to be negative. But it had to be cleared. It is okay to have to trust the people too. That means we shouldn’t force it. ‘

Referring to the UML blocking the parliament, Prachanda said that the issue could be
postponed for some time. “It may take some time for us to reach the final about MCC,” he said.

Because, even when the main opposition obstructs the House, it is technically difficult. We have to manage there too. ‘However, Prachanda claims that the opposition’s strategy of trying to break the alliance because of the MCC will not succeed. He said, “I have talked to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur ji many times. It is possible for him to pass quickly, but it is not as it was said in the alliance here. That will not benefit the country or the Congress. Therefore, I do not think that the Nepali Congress has a right-left position in this.’
