The CPN (Maoist Center) is going to form a 299-member central committee with 15 office
bearers.
As per the constitution passed by the meeting of the Central Committee, the party will have
one chairman, one senior vice-chairman, six vice-chairmen, one general secretary, two deputy general secretaries, three secretaries and one treasurer.
The Maoists, who had earlier planned to hold the first conference, have turned it into a general convention. The proposal of the standing committee meeting was approved by the central committee meeting held today.
The General Convention is being inaugurated at Pragya Pratisthan in Kamaladi today at 3 pm. Delegates from the district have already arrived in Kathmandu for the convention. The number of delegates including nominees is around 1600.
