Demonstration of squatters of Bandarjhula in Kathmandu demanding red card

Kathmandu, December 19

Locals of Bandar Jhula in Chitwan have come to Kathmandu to protest the demand for red
goods. Jagaram Praja of Bandarjhula Struggle Committee informed online news that they have been living in Bandarjhula for a long time and had to come to Kathmandu to protest as they have not received any red card yet.

They have demonstrated by carrying placards and banners saying, “Manage Bandarjhula squatter settlement, give us redistribution of our land, earth and sky are shared, is there any justice for Bandarjhula?” They had marched from Maitighar Mandala to the front of the Parliament House in Baneshwor.

Until their demands are addressed, the people will start an indefinite relay fast at Maitighar
Mandal from today. He said that the squatters from different districts have been living in Bandar Jhula since November 08, 1990, but they were forced to come to Kathmandu to protest after the government did not show interest in the management of squatters.
He complained that they have been suffering from the Nepal Army deployed for the protection of Chitwan National Park due to lack of redistribution of the land they have been consuming for a long time.
