Kathmandu, December 17
CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda’ has drawn the attention of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba about the action taken against the cricketer.
Prachanda met Prime Minister Deuba in Baluwatar on Friday morning and drew his attention to the action taken against the cricketer, said Prachanda’s personal secretary Ramesh Malla. “During the meeting with the Prime Minister, President Prachanda drew attention to the fact that it was wrong to discourage the players who have contributed to the recognition of Nepal to the world through the game of cricket,” Malla told to the News.
The Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) had acted against four cricketers including national cricket team captain Gyanendra Malla and vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee on December 15.
According to Malla, UCPN (M) Chairman Prachanda even congratulated Prime Minister Deuba on his election as Nepali Congress President.
According to Prachanda’s secretariat, the meeting also discussed the issue of convening an all-party meeting on current national issues including the smooth functioning of the House.
