Kathmandu, December 16

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), a government-run electricity distribution monopoly, has
announced that all tariff counters across the nation will be closed for the next five days, from today to
Monday (December 18), in order to improve its billing system.

According to a public notification posted today, the authority is closing the counters since the new tariff
rates will apply to all meter readings starting today, and invoices must be issued using the M-Power
billing system.

According to the NEA, the method would apply to all types of clients at the same time across the
country.
