The Election Commission has called for the registration of political parties for the election of National Assembly members scheduled for 12 Magh. For the purpose of the election, the party has been asked to register by submitting application to the commission from today till 10 Paush.
According to the election program, the voter list will be published in the office of the Returning Officer on 17th December and will be published on the same day.
There is a program for persons who are exempted from inclusion in the list to apply for inclusion of their name, persons whose name is included to apply for correction of their name, surname, age, post etc. and to lodge a complaint against the voters mentioned in the published list.
The term of 20 members of the National Assembly is coming to an end on 20 February. There is a provision to fill the vacancies by holding elections 35 days in advance for 19 posts except one nominee which is going to become vacant. Eight UML MPs, four CPN-Maoist MPs, four CPN-Unified Socialists, three Congress MPs
and one nominated MP are leaving the National Assembly.
