Kathmandu. The government is going to restructure the Ministry of Federal
Affairs and General Administration to facilitate the implementation of federalism.
It is said that the ministry, which is the main ministry implementing federalism, is
being restructured as it focuses on the transfer and promotion of staff rather than
implementing federalism.
Spokesperson of the Ministry Basant Adhikari informed that the Department of
Personnel Management and Records and the Department of Federal Affairs and
Inter-Facilitation would be formed after the restructuring of the Ministry.
According to him, the Department of Personnel Management and Records will
keep all the records of the employees of the National Civil Library and will also
transfer and promote the branch officers or below.
Similarly, the Department of Federal Affairs and Inter-Facilitation is coordinating
at the local and state level, policy work and small development projects including
roads, bridges and drinking water, which are being carried out by the Department
of Local Infrastructure, are being restructured.
After the restructuring of the Ministry, the Department of Federal Affairs and
Inter-level Facilitation will also coordinate with the Janajati, Madhesi, Dalit,
Muslim, Adivasi and Tharu Commission provided in the constitution. The
department will have two divisions.
