In opposition to the ordinance, the Lok Sabha blocked the Provincial Assembly of Province 2

Kathmandu, 15 December 15, 2021
The Democratic Socialist Party (LOSPA), an opposition party in two state assemblies, has blocked the
state assembly meeting in protest of two ordinances brought by the state government.
After presenting the views of the parties in the first meeting of the current session of the state
assembly, Speaker Saroj Yadav had given time to Social Development Minister Nawal Kishor Sah to
present the ordinance on agriculture and science and technology. Soon after, the LSP MPs blocked the
state meeting.
Lok Sabha MP Parameshwar Sah said that it was undemocratic to bring an ordinance after concluding
the state assembly session. He also said that the parliament will not be allowed to function until the
ordinance is returned.
Speaker Yadav had urged the government not to obstruct the ordinance saying that there was a rule to
bring the ordinance and the government would respond to the situation. However, the state assembly
has been adjourned for 15 minutes after the LSP MP continued the obstruction.
