Chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has boycotted the all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to discuss issues including ending the stalemate in the parliament.
Although Prime Minister Deuba called a meeting of the political parties represented in the parliament at the PM’s residence at 10 am on Thursday, Chairman Oli and UML boycotted the meeting.
The CPN-UML has been saying that it will not attend the meeting as there is a case against the CPN-Unified Socialist Party, which was formed by recognizing the 14 MPs.
“The Unified Socialist Party is illegally present in the parliament, while there is a case against the party in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, UML will not attend the all-party meeting. UML will not enter into illegal activities,” said a standing committee member close to KP Oli.
