The meeting of the House of Representatives ended after sitting for 8 minutes

The main opposition party CPN-UML has also obstructed today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. As soon as Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota informed that the meeting of the parliament has started, the UML MPs obstructed the meeting by chanting slogans. Speaker Sapkota has extended the meeting amid UML’s obstruction.

At the beginning of the meeting, he read out a letter from the President’s Office regarding the repeal of the ordinance on political parties. He then read out a letter from the President’s Office confirming the National Debt Raising Bill and the Finance Bill.

After that, Speaker Sapkota on behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba gave time to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki to submit the 58th Annual Report 2078 of the Auditor General. During the meeting, he drew the attention of the UML MPs who were chanting slogans that the issue under consideration in the court could not be discussed in the parliament as per Article 105 of the Constitution.

Ignoring the Speaker’s request, the UML MPs chanted slogans such as “Maintain parliamentary dignity, withdraw the conspiracy issue to split the party”. The meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned till Tuesday, Asoj 19.
