CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Olihas said that the party leadership will be handed over at a suitable time. Speaking at a press conference in Lalitpur on Wednesday to announce the decision of the standing committee, Chairman Oli said that he had no choice but to hand over the leadership at the general convention or at a convenient time.
Stating that the government had brought the ordinance only for the purpose of splitting the UML, Oli said that democratic parties like the Nepali Congress should review it. Oli appealed to Madhav Nepal to leave the new party formation and come to the mainstream.
Accusing the speaker of failing to play a fair role, Chairman Oli also urged the Election Commission to assimilate the legal system and values.
