The government is committed to protecting professional journalism and occupational safety: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government is committed to protect professional security. He made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Nepal Television Foundation, Nepal Press Union and Nepal Television Employees Union on Tuesday morning. At that time, the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Deuba said that the Nepali Congress was always in favour of freedom of press and expression.

Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, said that the government would work in the overall interest of Nepal Television by taking suggestions from all parties concerned. During the meeting, Chairman of the Nepal Press Union NTV Chapter Deepak Jung Hamal briefed about the latest situation of Nepal Television and drew the attention of the Prime Minister to appoint a qualified and competent person for the vacant post of Chairman. At that time, the delegation also drew the attention of the Prime Minister to focus on enhancing the interests of the corporation and its employees.
