No-confidence motion filed against CM

Lumbini MPs, including Congress have filed a no-confidence motion against Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel on Tuesday afternoon, urging him to form a new government under Article 168, Clause 2 of the Constitution.

Opposition Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, Janamorcha Samajwadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha MPs have filed a no-confidence motion in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.

In the no-confidence motion submitted to Lumbini Provincial Assembly Secretary Durlabh Kumar Pun Magar with the signatures of 34 members of the Provincial Assembly, Kul Prasad KC of the CPN-Maoist has been proposed as the new Chief Minister. Earlier, when the opposition alliance filed a no-confidence motion in the state assembly, KC was proposed as the chief minister.

On Monday, the coalition parties formed the current government led by the Chief Minister in accordance with Article 168, Clause 1 of the Constitution, but the government remained united and as it was illegal and in the minority, the had demanded the state chief Amik Sherchan to form a government according to the two.
