The government has decided to change the heads of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Today’s cabinet meeting has decided to remove Gandaki Chief Sita Kumari Poudel and Lumbini Chief Dharma Nath Yadav and recommend to names of Prithivi Man Gurung in Gandaki and Amik Sherchan in Lumbini.
The government led by KP Sharma Oli had removed Gandaki state chief Sherchan and sent Sita Poudel on Baishakh 20. Lumbini state Yadav was appointed state chief from 18 Kartik 2076.
Newly-appointed provincial chief Sherchan has a Maoist background. Nepali Congress leader Gurung was on the list of proportional members of the House of Representatives in the 2074 election. Both are residents of Chitwan.
