Nepali Congress has condemned the attack on Shyam Kumar Ghimire, a central member of the party and a member of the active membership investigation committee. Central member Ghimire was attacked on Friday by some party cadres who were dissatisfied with his active membership.
In a statement issued here today, party spokesperson Biswhwa Prakash Sharma said that the sudden attack could not identify the disciplined member of the party while he was busy with organizational work.
A meeting of party office-bearers and former office-bearers held on Friday in connection with the preparations for the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) also took the incident seriously. During the meeting, the party leadership has highly praised the active membership investigation committee handed by central member Ramesh Lekhak, which has been working day and night despite the short time and the epidemic.
Stating that it is the responsibility of the leadership and members of the party at all levels to assist in the work of the committee, spokesperson Sharma said that the chaotic, undisciplined and punitive activities wold be unacceptable.
