Domestic flights will be fully operational

The country’s domestic flights will be fully operational. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal(CAAN) has given permission to operate domestic flights in full appliance with the required health standards. As per CAAN’s permission, Tribhuvan International Airport will issue a circular to the concerned airlines to determine the flight schedule with health precautions, said CAAN spokesperson Raj Kumar Chhetri. According to him, a flight schedule will be worked out between the airport office and the airlines.

The Nepal Airlines Operators Association, an umbrella organization of airline operators, had been demanding the government to increase the number of flights to make passenger flights easier and cheaper. Earlier, Covid-19 was allowed to operate only 50 percent of the total number of flights before Covid due to the risk of epidemic. Regular domestic flights were started from this 17th of Asar.

Despite the ban being imposed in the country, domestic flights were suspended from Baishakh 20. 20 domestic airlines, including 10 helicopter companies, have been flying. By Muna Chand
