Gandaki Chief Minister Krishnachandra Nepali Pokharel has said that the world of journalism should warn the government through healthy and constructive criticism. On the occasion of the 21st foundation day of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Baglung branch, he wished good luck through ‘virtual’ medium and said that the world of journalism was a pillar of the democratic system.
“After coming to power, there may not be any shortcomings in the eyes of the government. Journalists should warn us through healthy criticism,” said Chief Minister Pokharel. He recalled and honoured the contribution made by the journalism sector in every movement for change including the establishment of a federal democratic republic.
Chief Minister Pokharel expressed the commitment of the state government to provide all possible assistance to the federation for institutional development and capacity building of journalists. He said that the three levels of government and the federation should work in a complementary manner.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Pokharel also inaugurated the website of Baglung branch, said branch president Naresh Kandel.
