Kerung-Kathmandu railway line construction agreement will be endorsed: Minister Gyawali

Kathmandu, 10 October: Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has said that during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Nepal, Kerung-Kathmandu railway line construction agreement will be endorsed. Accordingly, the Chinese priority is construction of the Chhahare tunnel road and upgrading of the Tokha-Nuwakot highway.

Minister Gyawali said that around one dozen projects including railway, tunnel road, hydropower, transmission line are the agendas to be discussed during Xi’s visit.

The government is preparing the list of the projects constructed by China under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Furthermore, upgrading of Tatopani and Rasuwagari trade pass, upgrading of the Araniko Highway, upgrading of Kathmandu Ring Road, construction of the outer ring road are the priority projects to be discussed during the bilateral meeting, Gyawali said.
