The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government will hold a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the SAR Government Information Bureau said on Saturday.
At 8:00 a.m. local time on National Day on Oct. 1, there will be a flag raising ceremony held at the Golden Lotus Square, which will be followed by a fun run in downtown to commemorate the National Day, the bureau said.
The government will also install large screens at several outdoor public venues to broadcast the mass parade in Beijing on the National Day, enabling Macao residents and tourists to watch the parade.
A firework display arranged by the Macao Government Tourism Office will take place on the waterfront near the Macao Tower at 9:00 p.m. local time on the National Day.
An acrobatic show titled “Monkey King’s Golden Hooped Rod” presented by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Liaison Office of the central people’s government in the Macao SAR will be held on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. local time at the Macao Forum.
The Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will collaborate with China Post and HongKong Post to jointly issue a stamp booklet on Oct. 1 to celebrate the anniversary.
