Oli’s controversial decision, one billion to promote Indian films

Owing to so much engagements  of the President,  the National Film Award Ceremony  has not taken place  since three years  but the Khadga Oli-led Government has  expressed its readiness to host Indian Film Award (IIFA) in Kathmandu and spend Rs one billion on it.

According to Kantipur daily, it is quite eccentric to hold Indian Film Award by the Nepal Government. Having received a consent from the Government Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Nepal Tourism Board have agreed to provide Rs 440 million IIFA Conference.

The Government will bear the  air travel cost of more than 500 Indian actors and so-called icons and arrange accommodation.

Bollywood actors Jaya Prada, Govinda Aujha and Gulson Grover are key person associated with organization of the IIFA in Kathmandu.
