Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli left for about two-week-long of some European countries on Saturday evening. During the PM’s flight time, this time also the Teibhuvan International Airport was closed for other commercial flights for about 30 minutes. No aircraft was allowed to take off and landing during this period.
Some international and domestic airlines approaching Kathmandu were kept on hold in the sky for 30 minutes. The aircrafts had to circle the Kathmandu sky for three or four times to get permission to land at TIA.
The TIA Traffic Control office also faces problem to manage air traffic jam during such VVIP flights.
The government is continuously neglecting general public’s voice for alternative management during the VVIP flights.
