Aaha-Rara Pokhara Gold Cup: TAC and Three Star playing for the title

Kaski, Feb 3:

The final match of the 23rd edition of the Aaha-Rara Pokhara Gold Cup football tournament is being held between Tribhuvan Army Club and Three Star Club at Pokhara Stadium today. The match is scheduled to begin from 2:00 pm.

This is the fifth time that the TAC had reached the final of the tournament, but is yet to win the title. Meanwhile Three Star Club has won the title five times so far.

The two teams had met in the final of the tournament five years ago in 2075 BS. But Three Star came out victorious.

The winner team today will be awarded the gold cup along with Rs.1.2 million in cash while the runner-up will win a trophy with Rs.601,000 in cash, said Keshavraj Baral, the chair of the organizing Sahara Club. Cash of Rs. 25,000 each will be given to the best players in five different categories.

Likewise, the best player of the competition will get a scooter.
A total of 12 teams including one from Bhutan competed in the tournament.
