DPM Khadka stresses on making astrology accessible to all

Kathmandu, Jan 9:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka has said it is necessary to expand the reach of astrological knowledge to all.

Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee Programme of Nepal Astrologers Council here today, he stressed on making the traditional astrology accessible to all through the new technology.

“It is necessary to make the astrology more advanced. The government will provide necessary support for its advancement,” he said, adding that astrology should not be practiced irresponsibly and misused.

He suggested making definite work procedures and standards for astrology studies.

World Astrology Federation president Dr Lok Raj Poudel called on the government to make arrangements for providing license to the astrologers. He shared that more than 14 thousand astrologers throughout the country are the members of the Council.

Founded in 2053 BS, the Council has expanded its branches in all the 77 districts, seven provinces and in the Kathmandu Valley.

Council president Madhav Raj Pandey said the National Astrology Day will be celebrated in second week of April 2025. The Council also felicitated various personalities making significant contribution to its development.
