14 kg gold scam: six-member probe committee formed 

Kathmandu, Dec 8:

A six-member committee has been formed today to investigate the confiscation of around 14 kg gold from Tribhuvan International Airport. The probe committee is led by Maniram Paudel, chief customs officer at the TIA customs office, said chief customs administrator Dr Tokraj Pandey.

Other members of the committee are Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Subedi, customs officer Dillu Prasad Sharma, customs officer Prakash Niraula, section officer Manju Thapa and customs officer Lokraj Dhungana.

A team from the Department of Customs arrested one Chandra Ghale in possession of around 14 kg gold biscuits from the TIA on Thursday night. Ghale hailing from Gorkha had boarded an aircraft of Flydubai (FZ573) and landed at 11:40 pm.

The team acted on a special tip off. His accomplice Min Bahadur Ghale from Gorkha has also been held.
