Monsoon-induced landslides have led to the obstruction of highways and road sections in nine different locations across the country.
Continuous rains triggered landslides, resulting in the obstructions of highways in various districts including Darchula, Sindhupalchowk, Mugu, Dadheldhura, Palpa, Rolpa, and Rukum (East), as confirmed by the Police Headquarters in Naxal.
The Gokuleshwor-Darchula Highway in Darchula, Melamchi-Helambu road section and Melamchi- Bhotang road section in Sindhupalchowk, Jumla-Nagma-Mugu road section in Mugu, Dadheldhura-Dipayal road section in Dadheldhura and Bhimdutta highway have been obstructed, the police headquarters said.
Similarly, Siddhartha Highway in Palpa, Shahidmarga road section in Rolpa and Mid-Hill highway in Rukum (East) are also hit by landslides thereby, affecting the vehicular movements.
Efforts are underway to clear off the landslide depositions and restore the traffic along the obstructed highways and road sections, police said.
