Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said youths are invaluable resource for nation building. Youths are forerunners of socioeconomic, cultural and political transformation, he observed.
In a virtual address to a programme organized by the National Youth Council on the occasion of the 24th International Youth Day today, PM Dahal viewed courage, creativity, capacity and high morale of youths helps build nation. Youths are backbone of country’s development, he viewed, reminding that the National Youth Policy, 2072 was already in place to promote youths in national development.
According to the PM, youths have growing interest in politics of late. He suggested the Council to come up with schemes of production, employment and self-employment so that youths’ exodus could be controlled. The International Youth Day has further inspired youths to be more responsible.
The youth awakening and capacity would contribute to sustainable development, PM Dahal believed, adding that proper mobilization of youths was necessary for equitable and peaceful society.
On the occasion, PM Dahal also mentioned the global problems affecting the country and people. Efforts from all sides were imperative to global environmental and climate problems.
The government was planning to observe this year as the ‘youth entrepreneurship year’, he shared. Concessional loan, youth friendly investment, innovation and entrepreneurship would be prioritized to engage youths in development of country economy.
