(220807) — GAZA, Aug. 7, 2022 (Xinhua) — Smoke billows following an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, on Aug. 7, 2022. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) active in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday evening that it has reached a cease-fire agreement with Israel. The Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since Friday have killed at least 43 Palestinians and caused severe damage to the infrastructure in the enclave, said Gazan authorities.
