PM Deuba inaugurates RSS central office building 

Kathmandu, July 27:

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS)’s new building at Bhadrakali plaza here today. The PM on the occasion unveiled the copper plaque and cut the ribbon amidst a special ceremony organised at the National News Agency’s central office.
The RSS new building has been constructed at an investment of Rs 168 million 600 thousand 152 received from the then National Reconstruction Authority after the old building was damaged by the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake.
RSS executive chairperson Dharmendra Jha, general manager Siddha Raj Rai, among the officials welcomed the Prime Minister when he arrived at the RSS premises.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Urban Development Metmani Chaudhary, Minister of State at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Umesh Shrestha, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, National Women Commission chairperson Kamala Parajuli, Communication and Information technology secretary Dr Baikuntha Aryal, Urban Development Ministry secretary Dr Ramesh Prasad Singh, among other government officials were present in the function.
The Block ‘A’ and Block ‘B’ of the RSS central office has 54 rooms. Prime Minister Deuba had laid the foundation of the buildings on October 26, 2017. Each block is four stories and the national news agency will run all services including the administration from there.
RSS was established on February 18, 1962 by merging the then Nepal Sambad Samiti (NSS) and Sagarmatha Sambad Samiti (SSS) with the objective of informing the citizens by disseminating objective, balanced and credible news from within the country and abroad.
