The major opposition CPN-UML MP Bhim Rawal refused to leave the rostrum during the House of Representatives meeting and demanded that the administration issued a letter directing it not to approve the SPP agreement.

The House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday was adversely affected when members refused to leave the rostrum after demanding that the administration submit a letter stating that it would not be participating in the SPP deal. Satya Pahari, the Speaker who mediated over the meeting, attracted attention and repeatedly asked to be seated, but Rawal insisted that he wouldn’t leave the rostrum until the decision was made. At that time, several MPs also passed regulations. Speaker Agni Sapkota came soon after then and asked Rawal not to change the subject, claiming that Rawal had already brought attention to the issue. However, Rawal emphasized that he should submit a letter to the US expressing his desire to withdraw from the SPP agreement.

After that, Speaker Sapkota adjourned the Parliament meeting for some time. After a 15-minute break, the House of Representatives meeting resumed without interruption.
