According to the senior vice president of the CPN (UML), Ishwor Pokharel, the country is
coming closer to putting the constitution into effect.

In a press conference held by the Press Chautari Nepal Province No. 1 Committee on Tuesday in Biratnagar, he claimed that the Nepalese Constitution was adopted as a result of massive consensus. "The Constitution is not unchangeable; it can be amended from time to time if required," senior vice president Pokharel stated.

Asserting that his party will win the upcoming union and state elections, he said that the UML has been prepared to run alone in the polls. Elections may be planned to meet local demands, he added.

Senior Vice President Pokharel talked about how the Provincial Assembly alone has the
authority to name Province No. 1, and he suggested that it should be acceptable to all based on a common agreement.
