Pushpa Bhusal Gautam, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has assumed
office. After taking the oath of office and secrecy from Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas, Deputy Speaker Bhusal went to Singha Darbar and assumed office.

Deputy Speaker Bhusal was welcomed by the staff of the Parliament Secretariat when she
reached the Singha Darbar. Taking office, Bhusal said that she will play a role in making the House of Representatives more effective during the remaining period.

Congress MP Bhusal, who became a candidate from the alliance, won the majority against UML candidate Bidya Bhattarai in the election in the House of Representatives.
