Directs the government to act against those who are negligent in the question papers of Tribhuvan University

The House of Representatives Education and Health Committee has directed the government to take legal action against anyone convicted of violating Tribhuvan University’s examination policies.

At the committee meeting on Thursday at Singha Darbar, it was decided to take legal action against anyone found stealing university exam papers. The meeting also directed the creation of a committee to investigate the cheating and question paper leak problems. The inquiry committee’s findings should alsobe submitted to the committee, according to committee head Jaipuri Gharti. She stated that the vice-chancellor of the institution, among other office holders, should accept responsibility for errors in the university’s examination materials.

In the meeting, the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Devendra Poudel said that immediate action will be taken against those who extract repeated same question papers and leak question papers.

The Tribhuvan University, which bears about 80 percent of the country’s expenditure burden, corrected its mistake and he said that it was careful not to allow such activities in the coming days.

Stating that an investigation is being conducted on those who extract repeated same question papers, he expressed the belief that strict action will be taken against them.

In the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University Dharmakant Baskota said that 4 question papers of undergraduate and postgraduate levels were out and repeated the same.

He claimed that it was decided to re-examine some subjects after the release of a similar question paper.

In the meeting, the committee members said that an impartial investigation should be carried out as the top officials of Tribhuvan University may have been involved in the leaking and duplication of question papers.

The question paper of the third semester of postgraduate level Public Economics and Humanities and Social Sciences conducted by the Department of Economics on the 1stof June by the Dean’s Office under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on the subject of “International Politics” of the first semester of postgraduate level Political Science on 6th June was the same as the question paper of the previous year.
