On July 15, a vote will be taken to fill the vacant position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota announced that the election will take place on the same day during a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Gopal Nath Yogi, Secretary of the Federal Parliament, has been given his order to publish the election schedule. On Thursday, candidates may file to compete for the position of Deputy Speaker. The time for registration of nominations for the post of Deputy Speaker is from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday. At the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor, voting for the Deputy Speaker is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday.
The post of Deputy Speaker has been vacant for a long time.
