Devendra Dahal, an MP from the main opposition party CPN (UML), has alleged that the bill related to the Constitutional Council was registered in the National Assembly to maintain power and alliance.
Speaking at a special session of the National Assembly on Tuesday, Dahal accused the parties in the government of filing the bill in the National Assembly, which he had earlier opposed, and said it was only to perpetuate power and alliance.
About the said Bill, stating that Sapkota had filed a case in the Supreme Court in the past, he said that the former speaker should understand the opinion of the chairperson of the National Assembly.
Stating that Sapkota had filed a case in the Supreme Court regarding the bill in the past, he said that the Chairman of the National Assembly should understand the opinion of the Speaker before discussing the House.
Similarly, he proposed to form a monitoring, supervision, and suggestion committee to look at the bill as many bills are pending in the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
Dahal argued that due to the government’s negligence, the bills and laws were left unclaimed in the parliament, which caused problems for the people.
