The Upper Dordi ‘A’ Hydropower Project, which is being built in Dordeni in Dordi Gaonpalika-6, will start producing energy in August, according to Liberty Energy Hydropower. The project’s promoter, Rajendra Wasti, stated that most of the project’s 25 MW total capacity has been finished and power would start to be generated in July.

He stated that power will be produced by the project’s most recent deadline extension, which is July. The project’s work has mostly been finished. The portion of the Dordi River destroyed by last year’s floods is currently being repaired.

At this time, the tunnel and penstock pipe are both covered in water, and the headbox has completed half of the damage caused by last year’s floods. “The water of Dordi river will be discharged to the powerhouse through a 2,700-meter-long underground tunnel and a 2,700-meter long penstock pipe from the dam site of the project,” the project’s promoter Wasti said.

According to the project, testing was a success. The proposal states that trial production will begin as soon as the line is built, and once it is successful, commercial electricity production will begin.

Despite having a goal budget of Rs. 3.96 billion to finish the construction, the project’s current budget is Rs. 4.63 billion.

The project will cost around Rs. 185.4 million per megawatt. The promoter Liberty and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project, with prices set at Rs. 8.40 in the winter and Rs. 4.80 in the rainy season.
