The society’s new leader, Sudarshan Prasad Nepal, claimed Timsina with ruining the
organization during a news conference on Wednesday at the party’s headquarters. He said that he wanted to maintain the Red Cross’s high level of reputation and that it was improper for someone like the outgoing president to undermine the organization. On June 14, the government established a 33-person special committee with Nepal serving as its head. Timsina, the outgoing chairperson, has challenged the judgment in court. Both parties are required to appear in court on July 11 by order of the supreme court. The chairman of the society Nepal also stated that the court’s judgment in this matter would be binding.
Bhupatilal Shrestha, the general secretary of the Red Cross, stated during the news conference that rather than solving issues via conversation, the situation was undermined.
