Paddy Day (Asar 15) being celebrated

The National Paddy Day (Asar 15 is being celebrated today.

It is customary to celebrate the 15th of Asar by working in the field and eating Dahichiura.

As per the decision taken by the government on December 14, 2004, the celebration of National Paddy Day started from June 29, 2005. This year, the day is celebrated under the slogan “Utility of rice in biodiversity, support in Import Substitution.”

In Nepal, about 5.6 million metric tons of paddy are produced annually on 1.5 million hectares of land.
