The US Embassy in Nepal’s deputy chief of mission, Manuel P. Mickler, has been named ambassador to Tajikistan.

The US President’s Office reports that Deputy Chief of Mission Mickler has been named Ambassador to Tajikistan and Ambassador Randy Berry has been named Ambassador to Namibia.

Both men have been appointed ambassadors to other nations, according to the White House, but it is unclear which one will represent Nepal.

Mickler is a career diplomat in the US Foreign Service and is presently the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy. He formerly held the position of Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Mongolia before being appointed to that position at the US Embassy in Nepal.

In Washington, DC, Mickler also held the position of Deputy Director of the Office of India Affairs within the South and Central Asia Bureau of the State Department. He also has a wealth of expertise working with US embassies abroad.
